We have published a book!
In addition to our open-ended cycling trip, we wrote the book ‚Very slowly, far away‘ and published it ourselves. It is now available to order from many online stores and regional bookshops!
It recounts our journey by bicycle from Germany across the Benelux countries, France, Spain, and Portugal. We report on spontaneous invitations, special events and places, house sitting in Portugal and Spain, and our 72-day tour through Morocco with all its special features and challenges.
We tell how we came to meet the monkeys on the Rock of Gibraltar, what our first year on an open-ended bike trip was like for us, what adventures we had on the Mediterranean coast and in the mountains of Valencia, and why we decided to completely change our rough travel plan.

Self-made, self-experienced, self-written
We wrote, edited, and designed this book entirely ourselves—page by page, chapter by chapter. It is based on our authentic experiences during our open-ended cycling trip, which took us from Germany through Europe to Morocco and back to Spain.
When writing, we only used AI-supported tools as aids to refine the wording and optimize the language. All experiences, thoughts, and impressions come directly from us, from countless hours on our bikes, at campsites, with hosts, on ferries, in small villages, and large cities.
We also designed the cover ourselves. We created it with professional expertise and great attention to detail to visually capture the feeling of our trip—freedom, vastness, and closeness to nature.
